This is worth going to for first time visitors as it is one of the landmarks of Cebu but aside from this there is nothing more to see. You can probably stroll along the area but make sure to bring umbrellas since it can be hot at times. More

This is not only a historical place where one of the Filipino's hero stand, it is also a good spot to buy souvenir like native bags and accessories =). It is where a famous local eatery is located, called "SUTUKIL", a great place to grab local seafood dishes without paying too much More

I only had a day on the island before my connection flight out the next morning so I took a taxi tour of the city. The basilica was very nice, and the cross was interesting. I wouldn't have gone out of my way for it, but there wasn't anything else to visit in the area so it was worth a... More

A must stop for those wanting to visit a place closely related to Ferdinand Magellan, the guy responsible for putting the Philippines in the history maps. More

Worth a visit to peer at local hero and dispatched conquistador. Place full of teenage hormones parading about, but still worth a look especially if you have a vague interest in history, or well recommend if you are 13 and live locally . More

I felt great being in a place I always see in history textbooks and travelogues. I appreciate the effort of Magellan to bring Christianity to the Philippines in 1520s. I liked it when tourist police drove away the vendors that made the place unattractive. I disliked the 'pray for pay' clad in silly costumes inside the kiosk. They ruin the... More

It was a simple and beautiful park visited by locals as well as tourists. Although it's known as the Magellan Shrine, a gigantic statue of Lapu Lapu (the man known for killing Magellan) sits in the middle of the park. It's best to have a driver help you get there. More

Magellan Shrine is indeed an historic site to visit in Cebu City. It will recall your history during the elementary days. I believe every Filipino should visit this shrine since he has done an heroic act and deed for The Filipinos. We went there at around 6:00 p.m. good enough to see those added lightings in the area. A good... More
