this is the icon of macau. cause i always see review about this ruins in travel website. so if you visit macau, you must visit this ruins also :D
I have an affinity for historical sites, so I had to go there. From the stairs at the front of the facade, you can see all the Portuguese influence that Macau has taken to preserve - including the stone pathways, walls, buildings. The whole area is aged and romantic. You don't feel like you're in China.
You should visit this place via Largo de Senado. But be careful because the roadsigns (like in Hongkong) are very small: you only have to read carefully, no need to ask other people. When you get there, don't miss the chance to go up via the stairs, you should see the view from the front of facade; and also should...

Went there at night. Couldn't find the place. No proper signage or too small signages...have to ask a few times to locate the place. Not many people at night....
I am a Catholic and upon seeing the ruins I asked myself, "What happened?". This place became a tourist spot where photos are taken showing the ruins on the background. Lots of stores in the vicinity selling all kinds of goods.
Not much to see at the ruins of St Paul's Cathedral. You will see the actual door of the cathedral built in the 17th century. There is also a crypt containing the earthly remains of some Japanese Christian martyrs and a small museum of sorts with some ancient artifacts.
It is a nice place to scroll around with many retail stores. You will be given a lot of food tasting such as sweets, biscuits, barbeque meats and others in which will save your pocket for a meal.
The alters are still preserved, historic sight, and very Holy. I liked the way they have preserved the relics, one must go here. Also nearby is the MGM hotel which is also an attraction.
Start at the top and work your way down. Don't be disappointed that they aren't really ruins - more of a wall!
