Visiting the spice garden, and taking a cooking class in particular, was a great break from the typical touristy stuff. Beautiful gardens set in amongst a natural tropical setting. Lovely place to have a slow wander around, with or without a guide. An absolute must for anybody with an interest in botany. I've visited the Tropical Spice Garden while visiting George Town. I had a guided tour and my guide Cindy had many interesting things to tell about the plants and animals living in the garden. Don't forget to have a foot spa in the pond in the back!

The spices here in this Garden are a plenty. We had a guide take us around also. He was well educated and we learnt quite a bit about the various spices that are grown here in the Garden. What a wonderful attraction to visit on a typically steamy Penang afternoon. It's a little piece of paradise where you can walk through tropical plants of the most amazing variety. There's a great little gift shop at the end of the walk.

It was a good place for nature lovers, particularly plants. There was a package of paying for entrance together with a guide, and i did a mistake for not doing that. Having someone to explain on the spices was necessary because the explanation boards were VERY limited. I would say it worth a visit.
