If you visit Lake Louise, you must allow several hours to do some serious hiking, or you miss the most magnificent part of Lake Louise. Don't just stand on the lakefront - get out and hike. “One of the best picnic spots ever...but you have to earn it!”

The best picnic spot requires two hours of uphill hiking and a backpack full of good food and a bottle of wine. Pick up groceries in Canmore or Banff then drive to Lake Louise.
