Stopped by Moritzburg on the way from Dresden to Meissen. Didn't have a chance to go inside the castle but stopped outside and explored the area briefly. With water surrounding it, and the main road from town leading right to it, the castle is beautifully situated.
Would love to check out the interior next time but even a stroll around...

This is a fabulous castle/hunting lodge. I had been here before and took my husband this time. Unfortunately they are not showing some of the better parts of the castle right now. Our German (unfortunately) is very limited, and no one seemed to know English here. Perhaps they were telling people that the tour was limited, but we did not...

The castle is located in a very suggestive atmosphere, in the middle of an artificial lake, with a very nice garden.
It presents a great collection of chinaware, especially of exotic animals, and can be for this interessing (but only if you are interessed in chinaware!).

Went to see in the fall. There was a fishing festival going on and looked to be interesting tho I wasn't able to take it all in.... The Castle/Schloss was impressive and I'm sure would be beautiful in spring and summer but they had drained the surrounding lakes for the winter and were in the process of restoration.
