We drove to Montezuma, met our guide and other travelers; boarded one boat at the beach, on our way to the 2nd boat we encountered bottle nosed dolphins that played in our wake and swam along with us for about 10 minutes. After a 45 min ride, we made it to Tortuga; got to snorkel for 45 min then had... More

This island is a must-see. This other-worldly excursion was definitely the highlight of our trip to Costa Rica. However, in talking with our fellow-tourists on the catamaran there, we learned that some had paid more than twice as much as we had because they didn't book through Rain Forest Tours, a Costa Rican travel agency. When we arrived at the... More

A great place to go and snorkel!! Once you've finished snorkeling around, go to the island and spend some time relaxing on the beach, playing volleyball and enjoying some lunch! More

We traveled to Tortuga Island with Samanthatours.com ($90 pp). It was not peak tourist season so we only had about 25 tourists on our trip. The boat trip took 2 1/2 hours and it was just gorgeous. The island was simply gorgeous. We rented a couple of beach chairs and umbrellas ($14) and parked ourselves on the beach for the... More

We had a wonderful time at Tortuga Island. The reviews prepared us ahead of time so we knew what to expect with the bathroom and chairs. We booked the tour through Curu Park and would recommend them. The park is very beautiful and we took advantage of exploring some areas of the park since the park entry fee was included... More

I have been taking tours to Tortuga Island for over two years. I am not sure what people expect but we have never had any complaints (ok just one) You cannot please everyone. I was disapppointed to read some of the negetive reviews. It is a beautiful island with a fantastic beach. In nature, you cannot guarentee fish when you... More

We spent the day at Tortuga Island and the boat ride to and from the town of Montezuma was the only highlight. Our tour included snorkeling, but the water was cloudy and because of the lack of fish, other than the stinging jellyfish, nobody in our group spent much more than 5 minutes actually in the water. The island itself... More

The snorkeling was so cool and the amount of different fish and wildlife we saw, my son saw a manta ray, was incredible. More

Booked this tour through Gray Line. We were picked up by tour bus at 6:30AM promptly at hotel and it took approx 1.5 hours to get to the Pacific port of Puntarenas. We boarded the large catamaran boat for a 2 hour trip across the gulf to Tortuga Island. The boat was slow, and had a local band playing all... More
