The boardwalk is a welcome addition to Alvor, I take this walk most mornings, its nice and relaxing to walk along.
You wont find any bar/drinks/vendors on the boardwalk at the moment, so if its hot it would be advisable to bring a bottle of water with you

This is a very well designed walk. Walking along, you can find Restiringa Restaurant (which has apparently hosted Prime Minsters and celebrities). Turn off past Restiringa and you head towards the harbour where there are a few great cafes and restaurants to hang out at!

I have been to many places but this was one of the most peaceful places i have been to so far.

Nowhere to shelter, but gorgeous walk! Endless pathways, you don't realise how far you've walked!

We set out at dusk along the boardwalk eventually arriving at the beach then turned back to return to Alvor - lovely cool sea breezes, sights and sounds after the heat of the day.

If you are looking for some peace and quiet, Alvor is just the town for you. Its between the busier cities of Portamao and Lago, which is reachable by bus, but in the town itself is enough to keep you occupied. You can go to the beach, go hicking, go travelling around or visit the surrounding villages.
