The grotto was pretty, and the boatsmen were funny. It's beautiful, but not very large. For 5 Euros I didn't feel ripped off.

This attraction is one of those things you have to do to satisfy your curiousity, well that's the way it was for me. I knew if I didn't see it, I would always wonder about it. Anyhow, it is very crowded with lots of small boats and I am glad I did it. Our pics did not come out very...

We went by sea from Amalfi which was a 10 Euro return trip each - not so bad as any sea trip along the Amalfi coast is great. We recommend staying on the boat when it gets to the grotto and save yourself the entrance fee!
The grotto itself is tiny, only about the size of an Olympic swimming pool...

You definately need to go at the right time to see the full emerald effect and I did love it...it's just a bit strange as your basically in a bit of a boat traffic jam as the tiny floaters bob around the small cave....still happy to have done it though!

The Emerald grotto is the size of a largish, dark swimming pool with light coming in under a rock shelf on one side. Yes, such light as does reflect off the bottom is a pretty aqua-marine color, but it's limited to a fairly small space and doesn't reflect off the ceiling or throughout the cavern. It was not particularly magical....

This is the essential tourist trap. We took a bus from Sorrento which was over an hour ride. We paid 5 euro each for a three minute boat ride through what is basically a cave with a greenish glow to the water. I suspect someplace there are green underwater lights. This is a direct ripoff of the Blue Grotto on...

Fascinating grotto, the light on the water made it look stunning. Going out of season we were the only people there, so had the grotto to ourselves. Best time to go for the best effect is between 11 and 2 on a sunny day.

The guys running these little row boats are absolutely hilarious - you don't get much for your 5euro but you do get a really good show and a laugh :)

You won't believe it when you see the emerald green water and a bunch of emeralds in the air when Guido splashes an oar. No pictures, no words can describe what you will see if you visit the Grotto.

We have seen and been to the grotta many times over the years. We have watched as Salvatore, the owner, built the place up to what it is today. A 1st class hotel and restaurant. We actually come to eat and melt in the surroundings. Don't miss eating at the restaurant. We ate there 2 times while staying on the...
