Santa Teresa is a difficult road trip, but it is one of the most beautiful beaches I've seen. I fear that, in twenty years, it will be another tourist trap. They beach stretches as far as the eye can see in either direction, and watching surfers and running hermit crab races while waiting for sunset is a must do!

Don't go. Crime ridden drought suffering dust bowl town. You can't relax in a town where you are worried about theft 24/7. Good waves, but bad vibes. Californians know, east coasters accept it only because they don't know better.

This is a great beach for surfing or just spending the day soaking up the sun. The beach is one of the cleanest and largest I've come across in Central America. The beach is ideal for surfing, there weren't too many people around despite a surf contest being on, it was great!

It's really dusty here! Also...anything that isn't nailed down gets stolen by thieves here. I was 10 feet into the ocean when my bag was swiped off the beach. If you love the ocean and laid back dining then you will love Santa Teresa. We rented a house as well as 2 ATVs for our transportation. Santa Teresa is the cool beachtown hangout that still manages to balance all the development and tourism with a small town sleepiness. The beach is not too crowded, the waves are good to surf for a level of surfers and the vibe is good.

Lovely beach but watch the waves. The rock pools were great for hunting crabs and fish. We also went riding along the beach and caught some great sunsets.
