We hiked the lower loop and totally enjoyed the experience. The trees are magnificent. We went around 9:00 in the morning and relished the tranquility as there were very few tourists. We went on our own and found it very manageable.

Wow, these trees are something else, the Telescope Tree is totally hollow and you can look right up through it and yet it's still alive! Old Grizzly was HUGE and the Clothespin was another amazing tree. It's all uphill to the museum so be prepared for a workout.
The tram was very expensive but you did get N audio tour....

Do yourself a favour just walk up the sealed road to the info and dunny at the top of the hill. Better than the 25 dollar bus ride and much easier with better scenery than the walk trail through all the dead trees ! This is one of the most amazing forests in the world how these giants can live...

Great to see Sequoias this far north. It is not Sequoia National Park but great to see these trees within 90 minutes of Yosemite Valley.
Take the tram tour its hands down worth it. It's not too long and you get to see so much of the area. Be prepared for all weather. We had to park town below and take a shuttle bus to the top. The temperature change was surprising, even to a Canadian that loves winter. I was a bit skeptical of...

Our first stop to Yosemite and what a great place to start. These trees are amazing and it's hard to believe how long they've been around. Make sure you visit the tunnel tree after the Grizzly Giant.
By choosing this option you get the guided tour up with valuable information and the pleasure of walking down about 2 miles. early in the am is best, but check the weather report, plan on layered clothing, bring bug spray, comfortable shoes, binoculars and a good camera. expect to see wild life. Deer love this area as do ground squirrels...

We were given great advice - go ealry before the crowds if you are happy to walk - most of the best trees are down in teh valley - then its a steep walk upwards - but various cut off points down - get the map from the bottom
We took the tram tour and found it very convenient since we travelled with two small kids. The Tram stopped at all major sights, narrated history and provided key information that I would not have known otherwise. The trees, the entire sceneray awes you. If you are in that area, it is a must do tour. We loved it.
The trees were magnificent. We didn't get out to take a picture because we arrived late. Stop her first, and then go on the tour.
