My wife and I visited Artist Point to photograph the rainbow in the mist at the base of the Lower Falls. We stayed at Artist Point until the rainbow was gone, then opted to continue hiking toward Point Sublime in order to enjoy the colors in the canyon walls, hitting the trail just before 10:00. This became a stream of... More

Stop in the Canyon Visitor Center for a little color map of the canyon area with trails marked. Park at Uncle Tom's and walk the rim trail to Artist's Point - much of this is paved and pretty flat. Great views, quiet, not many people. A truly great way to get a sense of the beauty of nature. It's hard... More

This is an easy trail that is shaded along one of the most incredible views in the park. Be aware that even though it runs along a heavily traveled road, this is in grizzly area. A hiker was killed about a mile or so from here in summer of 2011. This is also a one way trail, so you will... More

I hike this with my kids. We walked the entire south rim of the canyon. FYI if you park by Uncle Toms trail and the upper falls and walk north you will have to back track back to your car. It is a great hike I recommed all of the spur trails such as Uncle Toms Trail too. Awesome views,... More

My favorite hike of the week! Found a description of it on the web. Start by Uncle Tom's trail. Walk it first if you want to walk the many steps. Worth the view! Walk the south rim then down past Artists Point. Crowds will disperse as you move from parking lot areas. Don't stop at Artists point. Best views are... More
