I hiked in the "wilderness" of the North Unit today and could hear machinery and what I can only assume is oil drilling equipment. When on high spots you can see oil rigs and pump jacks as far as you can see. I also smelled a foul odor kind of like sulfer while hiking.

This park never disappoints...summer or winter, we always see bison and wild horses, this time I also saw a huge herd of pronghorn and lots of deer, both mulies and whitetails. I also saw a bald eagle, the first in the park. I love this place!
