This is a seasonal waterfall. It only flows when there is plenty of snowmelt so it is best to inquire about the condition of the flow before making the drive out to it. The drive out there is a bit long on some rather rugged roads. Also, make sure you take a map or you might get lost. If you... More

I came here with a few friends on our road trip not really knowing what to expect, and let me tell you it was definitely worth it. It's off the beaten path about 9 miles away from the main paved highway. It's a backroad so getting here isn't the most comfortable due to the fact that a part of the... More

Had the good fortune to visit Grand Falls the last weekend of March, and while it wasn't peak flow, it was incredible nonetheless. I've seen it all in the amazing SW, and this, IMO tops them all. A few tips: 1. When I went, a passenger car would have no problem making it to the first parking area, but it... More

This is a very cool spot out in the desert where the water is so loaded with mud, as it evaporates in the falls a cloud of dust appears above it. Very cool springtime spectacle. The road was pretty rough going in as I recall, but if you've got a rent-a-car, just go for it.

Took some friends out to see the falls. It is close to home and cool to see the spring run off. The kids had a fun time running around and up and down. The water fall is flowing nice this time of year. Fun times!

fun day trip not to far from our home, the falls are really cool! Only thing I didn't like was all the trash floating around in the bottom, looks like people use it as a dump site? Couches!! Come on people!

Don't take your eyes off the kids or dog as the ledge is not very forgiving. Hard to imagine that the river, at times dry, is a raging bank to bank river.

Yes,there IS a waterfall in the desert! Go during spring run off, but don't attempt to cross the river, it's deeper and current stronger that you think.

Grand Falls only runs part of the year, when there's been plenty of rain and the Little Colorado River is running. But this place is pretty incredible even when the falls aren't running. It's not easy to get to, they can probably help you at the visitor center. Located on the Navajo reservation. Best time is towards the end of... More
