Good show and comparable to the pow wows we have in the lower 48. Beautiful costumes and nice viewing area.

I was not a very long dance performance. It involved all age groups of the participating families. It is very colourful. They get the ordinance involved. The venue is in the centre of town. A must to see
The day performance was interesting but dancers did not appear too enthusiastic. Most were kids. It was interesting but very short. I am not sure how much drum banging one can endure anyway. The costumes were wonderful and it was great to see the Tinglit culture living on through the youth.
Thank you for your comments. As you noted dancing allows the Tlingit culture to be real and current for our youth. Therefore many of the dancers especially during summer school break are kids. We believe this gives visitors and our children a growth opportunity. The clothing worn for dancing is called regalia and is an integral part of Tlingit life.... More
The demonstration really helped us understand more about the culture....plus it was fun to observe. There is a tremendous investment by clan adults in helping children learn about the culture so that the culture continues.
We were made confortable around the room and introduced to the Tlingit culture. The dancers were wonderful. The men, women and children were wonderfully dressed and so enthusiastic, it was easy to join in when we were invited. It was very educational for us all.

We do seek to start our shows in a timely manner so that those guests on a schedule will not be disserviced. Due to the darkened theater we try not to open our doors after performance begins so as not to distract either the audience or dancers. When possible we station a staff member to explain this policy to late... More
