It is a strenuous hike but the view is well worth it. There are a bunch of yellow-bellied marmots that live in the rocks at the falls and are very photogenic. The hardest parts of the hike were the rock falls that had to be traversed. The trip up and back was very scenic. I saw a mama bear and... More

Well worth the hike and traversing the trail when it gets a little steep and slippery. The falls at the end are beautiful and I would love to visit again this summer. More

a great hike early in the morning when no one else is out. i went alone the second morning and loved it. i ran to the falls and hung around for about 15 minutes and found a great water hole to take a dip in before running back to meet my family for breakfast. More

It says 1.7 miles to the falls but met someone with a GPS on their way back and the clocked over 3 miles and they were only 1/4 of the way back on the trail. It is not a loop trail as someone reviewed. It does start out fairly level but there are lots of rock stairs and spots to... More

We went with our 2 and half year old daughter early june. It was a wonderful short and easy(not so easy when we had to carry our little one) with lots of wildlife to see on the way to the Topokah falls. We saw a medium sized Black bear and a brown one. It was right on the trail. We... More

I did this very popular hike in early August. When I set out from the Lodgepole visitor center, I didn't encounter anybody till I crossed the bridge (about 1/4 mile). But I was surprised to find the number of people along the trail. This is an out-and-back hike, 1.7 miles each way (not a loop as the other reviewer says).... More

This hike is gorgeous. We saw coyotes, streams, and melting snow in May of 2009. It's a loop hike that culminates in a huge beautiful waterfall before heading back. The surrounding large boulders are fun to climb. I hear the best time to go is when the snow is melting because it's not too cold and then the waterfall is... More
