And very big with a lot of animals! This is by far my favorite zoo I have been to. They offer military discounts, too. (I believe it was $2 off the admission price).

Visited this zoo on 5/19 with my 3 kids, mother-in-law and husband. The cost to get in wasn't bad, even without the military discount it would have been very reasonable. Big place! It also seemed like the layout was a little weird...we did a lot of back-tracking and missed seeing a lot because of it. Thought it seemed a little...

We have been to San Diego and Omaha Zoos which are hard to live up to. But the San Antonio Zoo is a nice zoo. Many aviaries and aquariums. The day we were there it was warm and a number of the animals were not visible or not in the location they were normally. This was disappointing but not unusual...

We were visiting San Antonio and had been told this zoo was one of the better ones. This was a very bad experience. The animals looked malnurished which was very disturbing so most of them were not visible or sleeping. The zoo grounds was VERY dirty and lots of the locations stunk so bad you couldn't even stand around and...

My many visits to the San Antonio Zoo have proven to be rough, especially with a wheelchair, though i didn't mind pushing a wheelchair throughout the zoo, it is very hard to get all the sites of the zoo in when you have someone in a wheelchair, it is a non-profit organization, It does rent their electric wheelchairs out. I...

Although this zoo is improving, it still isn't as good as the zoos in Houston, Brownsville, and Ft. Worth.

Nothing special compared to other zoos. I actually liked the Austin Zoo & Dallas Zoo better. The train ride is actually outside the park so you ride that before or after your zoo visit but they do have a very reasonably priced burger joint there at the train station but just beware that they don't provide lids or straws for...

Like this place, we usually go there with the family to enjoy a day observing animals. Kids love it.

We really enjoyed visiting this zoo. We went here a few years ago, and the African animals section seems much better than in the past. When we went this last week, there were at least four or more animals that were not on exhibit for one reason or another. I was a little disappointed at this. Prices for the restaurants...

Took my two small kids and sister-in-law here over this past weekend. LOVED IT. This is a great, classic zoo. Lots of beautiful landscaping and shade, easy to walk, places for snacks/drinks and GREAT exhibits. I love the new exhibits in the revamped Africa section...the hippopotamus exhibit was awesome! You get to look at those hippos underwater! We got to...
