We rented a pontoon boat from the marina. It was fun and fast, but they make sure to emphasize there is a 30 minute minimum. That's because the part of the lake that is accessible to boats is quite small. Still, it was fun and the folks were friendly.

Operated by the Estes Valley Park and Recreation District, this is a high quality lakefront operation with boat rental, fishing, and you can even rent a pedal surrey inn which the family can enjoy a beautiful ride along the North shore of Lake Estes. Go there and do it!

Had the good fortune to be in town on the day of a race around the lake, so I can say that the parking here is great and right on the path which is a nice serene way to get in some cycling, running, or walking. Truly a beautiful area.

You can rent boats, bikes,and fishing gear. Plus, you can get bait and a license. Extremely convenient. Be sure you communicate well with the staff. Well they may bite or not. But a great view if nothing else. Rent a boat and tool around. If its Scottish Fest the cannon balls only land in the lake to the south. (Other side of Highway 36).
