I live about 5-10 minutes from the park and do a lot of my training there (I'm a runner). The trails are great and well maintained, the roads are great. I've had very few negative experiences here. Early Saturday mornings are when you'll find locals riding their bikes or running...so you'd better get to Lot D early if you want... More

We were here in March before the spring bloom, so the crowds may be different in the summer. Despite the recent winter everything was beautifully maintained, trails were in good repair, and parking was easy. For a get away in the woods close to a major metropolitan area your can't beat this.

I have been going to this park for nearly 30 years and love it. It is nice, quiet get away, considering all the traffic and congestion in the area. There are many miles of well kept trails and a great interior road that is great for street bikes.

I hate to give it 5 stars because I don't want it to start getting busy, but this place is one of my favorite places to go. Lots of trail options, well-marked. Some trails are difficult enough to feel like you are hiking vs. walking, but not so difficult I can't take my dogs and parents.

Prince William Forrest Park in October is a hikers paradise. 37 miles of very doable trails. Also Bike trails, which did not try. The autumn colors were spectacular. The park is very easy to get to and is adjacent to all kinds of lodgings and restaurants. The park also has a campground. The rangers are knowledgeable and more than willing... More

Prince William Forest has, for me, a sense of being untouched by progress. The Park holds some of the last Piedmont forest left in the U.S., so that's probably why. Prince William Forest has something for everybody. There are many different trails, camping sites, historical locations, picnic areas, and the park headquarters which has a museum about the park. The... More

Greta park, with well maitined rods and parking spaces. The trails were well marked and fun to hike. A lot of old homesteads in the park and I saw my share of tombstones on the middle of the woods, which is kind of cool. The free map at the visiotr center is fantastic and very accurate. I hiked over 20... More

I've only been going to this park since early last year, but can tell you it's one of the best on the East Coast! It's beautiful, tranquil, and so peaceful! There's many trails, and most of them are alongside the river/water feature. There's dozens of huge rocks right on the water where it's great to either picnic or just relax... More

I used to go here every weekend with my dog when I lived in northern VA 12 years ago; I made a detour here today for a hike on my way into town for business. It is still well-maintained and very peaceful; it is difficult to believe that it is so near the interstate. The North Valley Trail & South... More

This was our third camping trip to Prince William Forest Park, and we absolutely love it. We have two little ones (3 and 5) and they absolutely love it here. Great paved bike path, as well as some trails that allow bikes. Great playground for the kids, but you need to drive there from the campsite. We've been here a... More
