Excellent visitor center with some exhibits. Because of rain, I didn't get to the rest of the park, but what I did see was clean and pleasant. Definitely will make another trip to complete the tour. More

Great Park which saw the fall of the south, this is a mixture of driving and walking, watch the film at the visitors centre, staff were very helpfull, driving tour and stops are well marked, although I would miss out on the walk to the railway supply station unless you want to look at 2 six feet lenghths of rail... As most National Parks, this is a great opportunity to learn history firsthand. Stand on the edge of the Crater, close your eyes and imagine the horror of that explosion, that led to the end of the not-so-Civil War. More

It was interesting to see the main logistic area for Richmond and the battle ground. It is a nice walk, but if you are not familiar with the area, I highly recommend to watch the video in the welcome center. More

Petersburg National Battlefield is a great visit, a must for anyone with even a casual interest in the Civil War. It's a pretty sprawling park, though, so it can be hard to get to everything. The best part for me was the City Point portion of the park, way at the tippy top of Hopewell on the James and Appomattox... More

we only had a short window, and watched the inhouse movie, then a quck tour via car of the battlefield, purchase the CD, it helps on the car tour, and is very informative, worth the trip! More

Good visitors center with video to give you history of battle. Some unique features here as a long seige caused some creative thinking of the armies. More

A field of battle that brings you back to the Civil War. The cannons used and all weapons are displayed. The museum has alot of interesting artifacts and they show a film to acquaint you with the facts. Then you walk around the battlefield, which is amazing. This is a great take in if you love history as I do... More
