Was very clean and not crowded during weekday. The water was a little cool still but overall the day was really nice. The water was clear with no jellyfish.

It's natural, quiet, the real thing...The sand is clean and soft, the surf-fishing is good and the swimming even better. It's worth doing no matter what the weather and often it is excellent beach-combing. Camping is welcomed and animals can be on a lead. 4 wheel drive is a must in order to enjoy it all.

Best Beach in Texas! There isnt another that can compare, lots of privacy, and wildlife!

There was a lot of sea weed when we visited. Other than that it is a average texas beach. No blue water here...

Beach was nice, (lots of seaweed, no jellyfish sighted) problem was that we visited on a windy day and we were sandblasted. I would not recommend the $12 parking pass, the public parking areas accessed just as nice beach areas.

We stopped by the national sea shore. They have a great picnic area, and a nice little gift shop that also had a good little educational area. They had examples of the types of shells that are commonly found in Texas, they also had alot of good information about the Kemps sea turtle.

My kids absolutely LOVED playing in the sand and the water at this beach. We visited the State Park area, and it was fairly clean and there was a lot of seaweed by the beach area. There were also some picnic tables & a changing station, but this was a bit of a hike from the water and almost impossible...

I guess I expected more and was not that impressed. Would I go back? No. Maybe we were in the wrong area - but there was nothing I thought was special.

Wild life. The direction sign on free way is so poor.
We got lost several times tried to get there.
