When you are in Arizona, travel south from I-10 at Buckeye to Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument for a few days of lifetime memories in a place where time has slowed down to a crawl. This national protected wonder is as alive with opportunity to explore by foot, vehicle or simply by learning at many of the scheduled lectures provided... More

I absolutely love this place!! Especially in the spring when the wild flowers come out. But I've even been know to hike around here when it's 115 outside. This place is the heart of our Sonoran Desert and it's absolutely beautiful! My favorite thing to do here is hike to the natural arches of Arch Canyon. More

A video and short nature walk at the visitor center introduce you to the fauna and flora, The rangers are good offering advice on hikes. The bathrooms at the trail heads are great. The signage directing you to a trail head is absent in the case of Alamo canyon so watch out as the road is just north of the... More

absolutely amazing, we were blown away by just how beautiful it is there, only complaint would be the heat being from the north east we were just not used to weather over 80 degrees More

We have visited Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument many times. The 20 mile loop road is the highlight for us as you see many desert plants, mountains, hikes, and occasional wildlife. The visitors center offers many books on the area, and desert gifts. There are quite a few hikes in this area. A van tour is also an option if... More

We had a fantastic time at Organ Pipe. The wildflowers were blooming, especially at the higher elevations. We especially enjoyed the Alamo Canyon hike--wonderful birdwatching, very scenic, and not too strenuous. We also loved the Estes Canyon-Bull Pasture hike--fantastic wildflowers, but a more moderate to strenuous hike with a lot of elevation climb. The Ajo Mountain Drive is a must-see. More

I expected a flat dry desert with a few Saguaro cactus and even fewer organ pipe cactus but found a beautiful desert with mountain peaks, and lots of life! it was a great day with the sun shining, flowers blooming and a great loop ride in our rented convertible. Watch the movie before you head out to the loop and... More

Visited there yesterday. It was very windy and cold, but the scenery was fantastic. The 15 minute video presentation and exhibits in the visitor center set the stage well. We drove the 21 mile loop trail on the dirt road. In our 4X4 truck it was jarring to say the least and we were all sore at the conclusion. It... More

Worth the drive to the park and the drive to the hiking trails. The scenic drive is a bit rough and dusty, but the trails are incredible! Going in February we heard birds singing, bees buzzing, and saw all kinds of wildflowers blooming. The hikes are strenuous, but doable (we're in our 50's and 60's). We stayed at the campgrounds,... Fabulous desert and mountain scenery, cactus everywhere. Isolated and beautiful. Yes, the place is right on the Mexican border and there has been trouble with human and drug smuggling. But casual visitors will almost certainly not notice any of that. More
