This is a great place for families, retired folks, soloists, couples. Great history items to explore with the bunker's hidden around the woods. Fun tide pools to explore, and a nice sand beach just around the corner. A few easy hiking trails that lead to other fun adventure spots on the way to Striped peak. There is also a good... More

We had planned on staying in Olympic National Park, but decided to stay here. It was a great find. We were here in April and I would guess the campground was less than 10% occupied. Showers available, walk in sites available, You can also reserve sites if you choose. We stayed just one night, but it was enough that if... More

Nice park. Fairly windy year-round, but pretty and some good tide pools. Be sure to check the tide charts specific to this area, otherwise you may miss out on the tide pools.

This is a wonderful gem on the Olympic Peninsula. If you have young ones then it's a must to go out at low tide and let them experience tide pools up close and personal. Plus you have the old bunkers on above the beach to explore and a plethora of trails. The views are incredible. If you like to camp... More

This beach and recreation area is a personal favorite that I visit year round. The beach is great for sea kayaking and surfing in the right conditions, as well as tide pooling on low tides. There is also a scenic hike that you can take that has beautiful views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca. There is year-round camping... More

Ok view from parking lot and it seemed popular with bicyclers and joggers and walkers even in late December

We visited the Salk Creek around 3:30pm and just enjoyed the stillness there and watching the beautiful pale pink and blue sky and the amazingly clear green water. It was a sanctuary.

Salt Creek Recreation Area offers camping, easy walking, some climbing over rocks along the rocky portion of the coastline, a sandy beach, the remnants of a military artillery battery, (supported by excellent documentation and old military photos), great photo ops and more. When the tide is OUT, you can explore the tidal pools and the rocky portion of the coastline,... More

This park is a little piece of heaven right on the Strait of Juan de Fuca, a short ride from Port Angeles, but miles away in feel. You can see Vancouver Island directly across the water. You can also see lots of marine life, in tide pools and out swimming around, and it is on the "whale trail" if you... More

We got to see the old gun implacements and learned how they were used to protect the waterway. The hike was great and the tide pools were something to see. We want to camp at the park now. THere are great sites.
