On our recent trip around the Olympic Peninsula we stayed in Port Angeles and took the Coho Ferry over to Victoria. What a fantastic 90 minute Ferry ride. We took the first trip over and came back on the last trip which gave us a full day in Victoria. On previous trips we have seen whales from the upper decks.... More

It was very convenient and quick to use the Black Ball Line to get to Victoria from Port Angeles. It was easy to find and comfortable to ride. As a bonus they had a tour guide desk and a purser to help in finding places to go, ways to get there, and even tickets to venues while onboard. More

We just love the Coho Ferry! In fact we love it so much that we got married aboard her last year!! She is just such a charming ol girl and with the room upstairs at the front as our "natural chapel" and the back drop of the Olympic mountains, how could you find a better place to get married. The... More

90 minutes and you're in Victoria or Port Angeles... Make sure you have your papers in order to get thru customs at both ends. It's an $11 reservation fee which is well worth it. In Victoria, make sure you're in line at least 60-90 minutes ahead for processing. An FYI, they have everyone vacate the car deck doing the passage... More

We had to arrive at least 90 minutes before the ferry departed. The ride was pleasant with lots of different types of seating. The day was beautiful so we spent the time out on the deck. More

We travelled from Victoria, BC to Port Angeles without any hassles. Smooth sailing all the way. 12 days later, we made the return trip. Just as smooth. If you're not a US citizen, travelling to that country is always an adventure (never sure if you'll get in) but coming back the Canadians are much friendlier and entry can be assured... More

If you are traveling to Vancouver Island for a day trip, weekend trip or on your way on to a different place (like mainland Canada) this is a great way to go. We have traveled with and without a car, both methods are easy and simple. The ferry has a small cafeteria and gift shop (in case you forgot to... More

52 years of excellent service going between Washington State (Port Angles) and Canada (Victoria). The snack bar could do with a little more variety, but selection is okay for the short (1.5 hr) journey. Watch out for raised door jams. Even with the yellow safey tape and cones, we've still seen people trip. More

Would definitely recommend making your reservation on-line ahead of time - made things much easier. Be sure and get there early, like they ask you to. We took our automobile and getting on and off the ferry was very easy. There is a fairly decent selection of food on board and bathrooms are easy to find. We enjoyed sitting in... More
