Greenland is a big country with lots of interesting and beautiful places to visit. However, only few places can give you such a complete experience as the area of Ilulissat - the town by the Icefiord. There are giant icebergs, calving glaciers and the Inland Ice are nearby, and they can be experienced both from helicopters, boat trips and hikes. Also the humpback whales are very numerous in the area, and we have begun to arrange whale safaris. The Arctic summer is short and hectic which is demanding for the arctic flora, which grows on the edge of what is possible. It is also interesting to experience the Greenlandic culture and history, which is present everywhere in town. The hinterland is incredibly beautiful and during the winter, when the snow has fallen, there are good possibilities for dog sledge rides. These combine both riding in the mountains, on frozen lakes and the ice covered fiords. The duration of the tours is 1, 2, 3 or 5 hours or 2, 3, 4 or 10 days. Our little pearl of nature, Eqi, is situated 90 kilometres north of Ilulissat and it is the destination of many tours during the summer. You can choose between a day-tour by boat, overnight accommodation with a great view to the glacier or our new Base Camp Eqi, which gives easy access to hikes on the Inland Ice. World of Greenland is a Greenlandic company owned by two travel agencies, Greenland Travel and Topas Adventure Travel. We have one overall objective: To give visitors the best experience possible while staying in the town by the icefiord, Ilulissat. Our regular staff is made up of experienced guides with great knowledge of the Disco Bay area. They all love the Greenlandic nature and are users of the activities that it provides. It is the knowledge and know-how from own experiences and the passion for Greenland that we use, when we plan the excursions for you. We will do our best to fulfill your expectations, which of course is expected to a stay in Ilulissat. Therefore safety and quality are very important keywords for us. Our experienced guides are equipped with GPS, first aid kit and communication systems on all hiking tours. Our boats are all approved by the government to make commercial boat tours. Our dogsledge drivers are all skilful hunters and fishermen. We provide them with satellite phones on trips on more than one day. These are just a few of the safety precautions we make so you only have to focus on one thing – your adventure. The whole staff of World of Greenland and I are looking forward to welcoming you to the Disco Bay. Espen Andersen Managing director, World of Greenland « less

Thank you World of Greenland for being so helpful, patient and kind. Christina Biilmann, the young lady who works at the front desk is so sweet and obliging, our trip to Ilulissat would not have been the same without meeting her. Ulf was an incredible help in booking our tickets to Northern Greenland at the last minute, and Rene, a... More

I felt we not adequately briefed by the English speaking office staff member prior to joining the sledding tour. Our drivers had little English and we were told "sit down and hang on" and we were off. Given that few visitors to Greenland are used to the extremely cold weather conditions, I feel more attention should have been paid to... More

Dear traveller. Thanks for your response to our dog sledge tour. It is important for us to hear how you liked our excursions and adventures. This organisation saved our expedition trip in feb 2010. We came to Greenland for a 7 days dogsledding exepedition and some other excursions. However our luggage was still in Copenhagen so we had no winter clothes for minus 25 celcius. When we called WOG from Kangerlusag there first reaction was "Don't worry, we solve this problem for you" They provided... More
