Visitors must rely on the guides for security and orientation in this world without pictures. Relying also on their other senses, visitors learn to “see” in an entirely new way. Their experience leads to reflection: social borders are reduced and ignorance gets changed into openness and respect. « less

An incredible journey through a day in the life of those that are visually impaired. I have actually participated twice & have come away with a better understanding of the challenges that the blind face on a daily basis which I take for granted. A helpful hint: Bring a few Dollar bills & place them apart from the rest of... More

Dialogue in the Dark truly opened my senses to what it is like to be blind. It does not only show you how difficult being blind is, but it allows you to recognize how much we depend on our eyes for everything in daily life, and how to become dependent on other senses in a brief one hour amount of... This was a powerful and very rewarding experience for me. I have a very close friend that is blind and I wanted to see the world through her eyes. What a great concept and eye opener. I thoroughly enjoyed it. More

This was a real enlightening experience to travel through this exhibit in total dakness. The Atlanta exhibit is now replaced with the Titanic exhibit and this too is a great place to spend an afternoon exploring. Atlantic Station, where, the exhibit is located has a lot to offer in terms of shopping and restaurants so you could spend the day... More

I experienced Dialogue in the Dark a few years ago upon its arrival to Atlanta, but I will never forget the experience. You are able to encounter that which the blind deals with daily. I can remember thinking I don't want to do this anymore, I'm ready to get out, but blind people don't have that choice. Humbling and enlightening... More

An interesting place to visit. Not for small children or anyone afraid of the dark on enclosed places! More

Dialogue in the Dark was a wonderful experience and I didn't really know what to expect. I must admit when the experience first started I was a little nervous. However, our guide was wonderful and kept us all on track. It really gives you a chance to walk in the shoes of someone that is visually impaired and also appreciate... More

I did love this for so many reasons...most of all, ironically, it opened my eyes to the world of those who live life without sight. More

This exhibition is by far the most interesting hands on experience I have ever had. I have always wondered what life is like through the eyes of a blind person and this experience allows you to do just that. I love how you "tour guide" through the exhibition is an actual blind person. Great way to educate others and help... More
