We drove along the river a few times on the way to Woodstock. This is a beautiful drive. I had to stop several times to take photos, to drive across covered bridges and to take pictures from the other side of the river. This was a perfect, relaxing and beautiful drive.

We walked both ways along the river - up to the lake and down to the gorge. Really pretty ... an easy walk and certainly worth it

It is always a surprise to cross the bridge over the gorge and look down. Aside from looking down into the gorge from the bridge and edges, walk down the trail and view it from below. River Road, on the north side of the Ottaquechee, allows one to wander along the river, stopping to look at anything interesting (like the damage to a covered bridge wreaked by Hurricane Irene).

A great river to view all the way from Quechee Gorge all the way into Woodstock. Drive along River Street in Woodstock and see all the lovely homes set along its course.

Went out for a dayrecently with Guide and Potter, Jeff Pentland, who was very knowledgeable and fun - we were taken to spots off the beaten path where we found quiet, small pools and great spots for rainbows and gorgeous native brook trout! Great Guide - look him up!

This river starts quite small west of Woodstock, lovely through the town of Woodstock with old homes and gardens along the edges. This Taftsville covered bridge was damaged during the 2011 Irene hurricane and will be under repairs for 2012 and 2013 but still very interesting to see. State stocks the river with fish each year.
