For us older travelers, it is a reminder of what it used to be like. A lot of stuff to see and read. A nice way to spend three hours.

Its a great place to take kids. They have this long train that you can walk through and during Christmas they have a huge tree and music and doll houses and minitures and lots of stuff to see. The kids will enjoy this visit and I did, meaning adults also
This was a really great find. My sister has lived in the Omaha area for 15 years and had never visited. We decided to go as there was a traveling exhibit on "The Women of Rock". What a great museum! The ticket price was $9.00 for adults. We spent about 3 hours there but could have spent several more. There...

The museum is in the old Omaha Union Pacific station. The museum is so thoughtfully put together. The soldiers during WW2 would stop here in Omaha and get coffee, soda or a little food put out by the residents of Omaha. The sculptures seem so real with a lady standing at the ticket booth or sailors standing around and talking...

This beautiful art-deco Union Station is a museum in itself. Amazing chandeliers, floors, ceilings. Standing in the old train station ticket area makes you feel like you are living in the 50s. Be sure to walk up to the life-size statues to hear their stories. Downstairs you'll find trains to walk through, cable cars, covered wagons, a tee-pee, school classroom,...

I can remember the days when it was a functioning train station. Now turned into a first class museum. (Our train station is now a trailer). The museum is beautiful. Perhaps they could turn part of it back into a train station. It holds various traveling exhibits among other things. Last year they had a magnificent exhibit of original Abraham...

it had a lot to offer for both the kids and adults. the history of the place is great and as soon as you walk in you can imagine this place bustling in the mid 1900s. we were with young kids who enjoyed the trains and hands on childrens area, the adults enjoyed the historical aspects of the entire place.
They keep adding on and improving this place. I love the depot lobby that makes one feel like they are transported back in time. The main street is a nice addition and I like that you get to walk through the historic train cars. This is a very experiential museum. Well worth the time and price of admission.
We've been to the Durham a couple times now and always has a fun time looking over the exhibits. Definitely worth a stop!
This was a great museum! I'm so glad the City kept this building and preserved the railroading history in Omaha. Great way to spend an afternoon, and several non-railroad specific exhibits to check out as well.
