The food at the ballpark is good and varied. Try the sushi, Ivars for fried clams and chips. When the roof is open it is nice. Take the free city bus from the Macy's transit center underground to Chinatown and the walk about 5 blocks. Bus costs $2.25 going back into the city after the night games. More

First game of a 3 game weekend. M's lost the first and took the second and third. Had been a couple of years since we saw a game at Safeco. It is a well planned park. More

Try not to sit on the aisle ends if you don't like getting up and down repeatedly to let people go by. There is not much room between rows, and the culture of Safeco is that just about everyone wants to go up and down the steps a few times per game. Having a preference for intimate ballparks, Safeco Field seemed much too big. Retractable roof is a good idea for a place that has lots of rain but it added to the feeling of sitting in a monstrosity. More

I've been to many MLB stadiums across the country: PNC, Wriggly, Busch (the current and the one before), and many more and I'd say Safeco is one of the best. Great sightlines throughout the stadium. Good food. Fun atmosphere (if the Mariners are winning). Just make sure you bring a jacket, it gets cold on the waterfront in the evenings. More
