This display of planes past and present is awe inspiring. Getting to walk through these as well or sit in a cockpit was definitely fun.
If you or someone you know has any interest in machines of flight (planes, space, etc) this is a must do stop on any trip to the Seattle area. Sitting just south of downtown Seattle (exit 158 off Hwy 5), at the Boeing airstrip is an amazing collection of fantastic machines of flight in mostly a well preserved state. Buildings...

Great place to spend a day. The museum is huge, there are even a spaceships department. Volunteers are very very nice and helpful.
As an old pilot and USAF vet I really enjoy aviation displays. This is a fantastic way to spend a afternoonor even a whole day.
I find something new each time I visit the Museum of Flight. Most recently, they have opened a new building which houses the Shuttle Trainer, added in late 2012. The museum has one of the few Air Force Ones on display, which you can walk through. A flight simulator, and currently a space shuttle. It is a great attraction for all ages.
I really enjoyed the visit to the Museum of Flight. Especially enjoyed the original Boeing Factory. Several hands-on exhibits are nice. However, the space shuttle simulator buidling was closed for a private function. They didn't mention that when we arrived and paid and gave no discount - very disappointing. But the rest of the museum was great.
I hadn't visited for many years and if seems as if the Museum has been completely overhauled. We didn't have more than a few hours, but this is a place you spend the entire day. We enjoyed the space shuttle simulator, the WWII aircraft displays and the original Boeing workshop. If you love flight, this is where you have to...

The exhibits of all types of planes are exceptional. Many are set up to let visitors go inside. I would go back again because there are always new exhibits being added. Families are very welcome. The only thing I did not like was that we were not allowed to bring food in for our toddler grandson.
