We were at Kings Mountain for a marathon. It is a very pretty area. The visitors center is nice but nothing special. Would have liked to see more artifacts etc. However, I suppose there may not be any to be seen. A nice trial for walking around the battlefield. The information signs were interesting. More

Before visiting Kings Mountain National Military Park, we had no idea that such an important battle took place atop Kings Mountain, SC. The visitor center features an educational film (take the time to watch it - its great), a museum, and gift shop. The trail around the mountain where the battle took place is an easy, paved 1.5 miles. Atop... More

I've taken the whole hike and film experience in on several occasions. I'm always stunned by how I can touch our country's founding first-hand by this experience. The cairn of Patrick Ferguson really makes the war real, and not some fairybook story. there used to be a patch that could be earned by following certain instructions. Check with the park... More

What a great job the National Park service has done with this site. It is so easy to stand atop the hill and imagine the action as it was taking place. I do not believe you would have to be a history buff to appreciate the sacrifice on both sides that took place here. The film is one of the... More

I thoroughly enjoyed Kings Mountain National Military Park. It was easy to get too, free to get in, full of history, and a great spot for photos. Watch the movie before going on the trail. The movie is well done and definitely sets the tone for the park. It's like a mini history lesson. The 1.5 mile trail is paved... More
