Come experience the 1880’s in the H.N. Greenwell Store Museum where the shopkeeper will help you gather your supplies for your trip up Kona mauka. The mingled aromas of coffee beans and oranges blend together again, just as they did over 100 years ago when goods were sold here in the heydey of Kona ranching. On Thursdays, visitors and locals alike, line up to buy the sweet bread coming out of the Portuguese stone oven.Come join us! You won’t leave this place without feeling you have experienced a rare glimpse into Hawai`i’s colorful past. « less

This is a great step back in time, we had a nice historical overview from our docent who set the tone in her period garb, telling us who lived here and ran the store and how they came to Hawaii Island etc. Then we went inside the store which, for being just one very large room, was stocked quite well,... Lot's of HI lore and history and horticulture to learn. Locals buy plants there and get discounted walks + Sr. get a discount too. You may be able to ship some of them home? I think there is a nice view too. For a meal if hungry head down the street to Mahina's. Some of the books are hard to... More

Super and free tour to learn about coffee. Our tour guide Peggy was great and knowledgable, down to earth, fun person. I will never look at coffee the same. I can now become a coffee anob if there every was such a thing. Thank you Greenwell !!

I loved how the docents told their story by having the guests pretend to be one of the customers of the old store. It was a unique way of telling the story. Good family history of the Greenwell family as well.

This stop was so educational..and free too! Personnel take you through a portion of their plantation, showing you what a coffee bean looks like, how it grows, and the process of roasting as well as the history of coffee grown in Hawaii. Very enlightening. And free coffee samples to boot! Stop t and enjoy!

Lots of information about coffee growing, the Greenwell history and wonderful selection of items. We've been a Greenwell Coffee Club member for a number of years. Wonderful Kona coffee.

This is a lovely place to learn about coffee harvesting and about the early settlers of Hawaii. Be sure to watch the video and you'll love the actors who are actually guides.

I love the tour, the guide is very excellent. I learn about the cherry( young coffee bean), the Greenwell's family history, the fruit trees around the property, the co-op, the long process of cherry to coffee we get to sample, expensive but so worth it.

These folks may give the best tour, and talk of any coffee grower/processor on the Kona side. Knowledgeable, and willing to share with you!! You'll learn more than perhaps you wanted to about the process of taking coffee from bean to cup ... The coffee's bretty good too!
