It is a layed back country club opened to the public. Food was very resonable! Great service, they don't hold many guests, but the service was awesome.
Would highly recommend it as a new place to try thats been around for quite awhile.

We spent one week on the Big Island and golfed both the Kona Ocean Course and the Kona Mountain Course. We golfed the Ocean Course first and thought it had amazing views of the ocean. A few days later we returned and golfed the Mountain Course - every hole has an amazing view of the ocean from up the mountain....

The CC is not kids friendly ( $75 for youth) course but we played anyway.
We found a great deal at golfnow.com and paid about $230 for 3 people with 2 carts.
The course was well taken care.
There is a blow hole at the shore.
We enjoyed the beautiful ocean front views and black lava hazards.
It took us...

Played three rounds on two islands and found this to be best location (close to Kona), price and experience. Had a nice lunch and found the staff to be friendly also. NOTE carts must be off the course at 6PM so if you tee off after 1 you may not get 18 in - this was news to me until...

I visit the Big Island regularly, and have played most of the golf courses there. The Kona Country Club staff has been nothing but kind and helpful. My wife and I like to start early, the staff are always courtious, even at 6:00am. While I agree the course could be better maintained, my guess is that if someone was yelling...

Not getting the hate. I had a great time. The service in the pro shop was fine. The cart shack employees were awesome and friendly. The course is really nice. I played 3 days. I used the hawaiigolfcard.com to pay. It turned out to be $60 for the card, and $240 for 3 days unlimited golf/balls/cart. Works out to a...

We booked tee times through Golfnow.com and got a great deal for the ocean course. Some reviews have been critical of the staff and while they were not overly friendly, we found them helpful and competent. The course was well maintained, a good resort style course that is not too difficult and the ocean side holes were spectacular.

The Ocean Course was so-so, about what you'd expect for $100 in Hawaii. The conditions were a bit dry but certainly playable. The fairways were generally wide and forgiving but I often had difficulty finding balls that settled down into the rough. The greens putted nice and were fairly tricky. There were two or three memorable ocean side holes. Most...

And the course was pretty beat up as well. But really my primary complaint was that the staff treated us like they were doing us a favor. Rude, inconsiderate and non-responsive all come to mind. We played Mauna Lani the previous week and there was just no comparison. The course was in way better shape, prettier and the staff was...

Pricing quite expensive. We were beratted and belittled and screamed at for marginal infractions on 3 seperate occasions for the same incident. I was told we would be followed around the course. That came from the manager. She wouldn't let me speak and literally turned her back to me. The "starter" screamed at us for not recognizing her when she...
