Visiting Algiers Point was the most pointless activity I've ever undertaken on any vacation that I've ever taken. My wife and decided to board the Ferry at the end of Canal Street and take the ride over to Algiers Point on a Sunday morning where, we were told, there would be taxis available should we need one. Not only were... More

The ferry at Algiers from the New Orleans river walk was very convenient . It provided swift and easy transport from the east to the west side of the Mississippi river. More

Took the free ferry for the view across the river. Had couple block walk on Pelican to a yummy cupcake bakery. Then back, just stalling before our trip to the airport. Delicious cupcake and cinnamon bites! More

My son and I stayed in Algiers Point for the Final Four. First AP is not a big place. There are 3 bars, one that serves food. In addition there is a Wine bar and another cafe. They were all good, but the houses and people were better. The architecture is amazing, the people more so. We met several people... More

This is across the river from New Orleans via a free ferry ride. It is really just a residential district with nothing much to see even though you get a self guided tour pamphlet when you get off the ferry. It's just a place where people live. More

Went there on the fourth of July. I had fun and had no trouble but everyone knows Algiers is not a safe place to hang out. More

Algiers is not a really safe area. Be careful. Go early in the day but not at night. It is old and interesting place to go. You can drive or catch a ferry across the river. There are nice restaurants. More

Free pedestrian ferry across mississippi river. Walked designated sidewalk. Finally stopped and asked a local to point us to the sights. We were told the only sights were a restaurant and bar just off the ferry. We walked at least two miles, and other than the excercise value, that trip was worthless. More
