Took the free ferry for the view across the river. Had couple block walk on Pelican to a yummy cupcake bakery. Then back, just stalling before our trip to the airport. Delicious cupcake and cinnamon bites! More

This is across the river from New Orleans via a free ferry ride. It is really just a residential district with nothing much to see even though you get a self guided tour pamphlet when you get off the ferry. It's just a place where people live. More

Algiers is not a really safe area. Be careful. Go early in the day but not at night. It is old and interesting place to go. You can drive or catch a ferry across the river. There are nice restaurants. More

Free pedestrian ferry across mississippi river. Walked designated sidewalk. Finally stopped and asked a local to point us to the sights. We were told the only sights were a restaurant and bar just off the ferry. We walked at least two miles, and other than the excercise value, that trip was worthless. More
