We’ll keep with the pace of the city—nice and easy, taking in the southern scenery, hospitality and weather. While kayaking, you will see some of the older city structures, like the Spanish Custom House and the Pitot House, both built in the late 1700’s. You might hear and catch a glimpse of the happenings at Fair Grounds Race Course, one of the oldest horse tracks in the United States, as well as the site of the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. You will be paddling along side beautiful City Park, which houses centuries-old live oak trees. « less

Sara paddled the tandem kayak while Sarah Quintana serenaded us at twilight as we gently paddled down Bayou St. John. We learned the history of the Bayou and its importance in helping to build New Orleans through Ms. Quintana's beautiful songs and stories. Stopping under the bridge, where the acoustics are amazing, Ms. Quintana serenaded us. Voice, banjo, and even... More

Without a doubt, it was one of the best things I've ever done anywhere! I went with my nine year-old son and they had a tandem kayak that was perfect. I was worried about keeping up, but it wasn't strenuous, even though I haven't gone kayaking in a long time. Learned a lot about NOLA, wildlife, even restaurant recommendations. Great... More

What a well run and very informative trip. Sara and Sonny were incredibly knowledgeable and very willing to share information not only about the area we travelled in the kayaks, but also about other places in New Orleans. We did a morning trip and got up close with birds, turtles, the history and architecture of the area and had a... More

We had a great time paddling with Sara down Bayou St. John on a warm spring evening. We found it relaxing and informative and Sara was super friendly. Recommend this tour to get out of the French Quarter and see a different part of the city from a different perspective. More

My family just did the 6:00 to 8:00 tour. What a great way to get out and see a different part of the city. Saw a great sunset and a great moonrise along with some nice wildlife. Sara was very informative and everything went as planned. My two daughters (11 and 13) went and had no trouble and a great... More

I live in Baton Rouge but try to get to New Orleans at least twice a month. My friend was in town, and with the weather getting nice, I decided it was time to get out of the French Quarter for a bit and do something a little different. Paddling down the Bayou was fun and a lot easier than... More

I took the three-hour afternoon tour, and it definitely lived up to the other reviews. The kayaking was not very difficult, as there was only a slight current in the bayou. We kept a leisurely pace for most of the tour. We were able to see and hear about some of the great historic sites that New Orleans has to... More

We did a Friday afternoon paddle which included eating at Liuzza's and going to the horseraces at the Fairgrounds! This was great fun. Sara and Sonny are very informative and friendly. We were amazed by the wildlife we saw including a beautiful pair of owls and a soft-shell turtle. Highly recommend this activity!! More

The tour guides/couple who own Kayakitiyat are awesome and very personable. They also seemed willing to help tour participants in any way possible. Very nice folks. The kayak tour is relatively easy, even for beginners, but I would bring lots of energy. Thanks for such a great experience! More
