This temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna and the deity is manifested as a kid. The temple is actually quite a big complex with a very big pond in front. There are seperate shrines for Sastha( Lord Ayyappa), Naga yakshis(Serpent gods), Lord Ganapathy. The prakarams( place encircling the shrine) are big and one can feel the cool breeze, adding to... The temple is very nice, calm and clean. I felt that removing shoes outside the premises, removing shirts and banyan is a lot of effort to go to see the Gods and Goddesses.

Situated close to Allepey (Alapuzha) on the sides of National Highway No 47, in Kerala, this is a famous and historic temple of Lord Sri Krishna. This is a huge temple complex. The deity is in the boyhood form of the Lord. The most important offering here is the Kheer (Payasam) popularly known as "Ambalapuzha Palpayasam". This Kheer made of... More

I was totally disgusted with the experience at Guruvayoor with the way devotee crowds are dealt and behaviour of priests and others managing the flow of devotees....so a visit to this place was totally opposite. The place allows you those precious moments of calm and feeling spiritual. You can pray. The only thing lacking is proper signage for visitors who... More

I was much looking forward to a visit at this temple - we went at dusk - about the only place in Kerala where mozzies and other biting insects were out in force. Getting into the inner sanctum proved difficult. Had to take shoes off at least 100 yards away for tourists but locals were walking with their leather shoes... More

Situated in Ambalapuzha, this temple is a traditional Kerala temple. It is quite ancient but totally spacious and it is clean and well maintained. Famous for its pal payasam prasadam. It has to be booked 2 days in advance if you require a large quantity. On the spot also you can get a box of payasam per head for 50... More
