We weren't expecting much but were pleasantly surprised by the attractive displays and interesting information. The museum is on the main road in Page and hard to miss. It helped us understand the area and made our trip more meaningful.

If you are visiting any of the surrounding area, this is a great little museum to stop in and get information for tours and hikes nearby. There is a great historical section about Powell and others who explored this area early on, and a nice gift shop with a lot of free pamphlets full of tips and things to see.
We found ourselves at a bit of a loose end one day in Page and decided to visit the Powell Museum. Full of History of the Page Lake Powell surroundings. Has some old boats and maps of yesteryear. Attendants very helpful and informative. Relaxing
So my family Loves museums. This one is Free, right next to the damn and small enough to do within 30 minutes. Anyone interested in the southwest, Grand Canyon or just history in general will love it!

Small, Busy, Slightly under staffed. Well maintained and lots of literature of the area. Shame we couldn't spend the day queuing for a little more information.
Not the biggest of museums but the presentation of the materials was well done and there was a logical progression through the history of the region and the short history of Page itself. An informative visit which explains much about the tough life in the past.
This place looks small but houses tons of great information and pictures of a pretty impressive guy, river explorer John Wesley Powell, as well as fellow river greats such as the Nevilles and Georgie White. It's packed in pretty tight compared to larger museums but they even managed to squeeze in dinosaur info and bones! And how about the corn-grinding...

small museum, cost $5 to get in, pretty informative about John Powell, who was actually a very interesting guy. If you are looking for something to fill the time with, might as well go.
