Despite much 'critisism' for its uber-coolness, we really enjoyed our recent one week stay in Williamsburg. Lots of friendly restaurants and bars, and a varied selection of independent shops.

This for me was a bit off the beaten track but very easy to get to from dumbo by walking along the riverfront and then getting a ferry two stops up . It had lots of very cool ( according to my 23 year old daughter ) shops , a massive vintage store , so many restaurants and bars that... More

Williamsburg is easy to access from Manhattan. Go to 14th St. and take the L train to Brooklyn. Bedford Av is the first stop in Brooklyn and you emerge at N. 7th and Bedford - walk south toward Grand passing 6th etc. after Grand it is South 1st, South 2nd etc. Stick to part north of Grand although new spots... Tons of fabulous restaurants. Just walk up and down the street and find something you like. One of the best cheese shops any place. Super friendly environment. There is always someplace interesting to talk into.

A very hot little area of town with cafe's bars, boutique fashion outlets and just a generally good vibe.

I was born and raised in Brooklyn. I now live in Queens and it had been years since I last visited Wiliamsburg, Brooklyn. Wow what a difference the years have made. North Wiliamsburg once a seedy industrial area is now arguably the trendiest neighborhood in the entire city. A safe colorful neighborhood with full of resturants, bars and clubs to... More

Made a quick visit to Williamsberg via the L train to Bedford Street. Really loved the vibe although we were only there for a few hours duing the day. Looked like it would be agreat place to come for a night out. Great streets, shops, cafes, bars etc. Also a great wee park down by the waterfront with fabulous views... More

Even on a cold, snowy Saturday the crowds dominated the sidewalks. There are interesting restaurants and shops to visit.

This area has many bars, a view of Manhattan skyline and a lot of goatees. The thrift shops are fun but actually buying something in one of them is for people who don't know any better. Easily the New Orleans of the city. What Bleeker Street was before it got NYUified. Don't drink the water (poisoned from generations of ground... More
