WIth so many museums in Manhattan its not hard to understand why so few make it out to the Brooklyn museum-their loss. They have some of the nicest pieces of any museum in the city, perhaps in better condition than many. Their Egyptian collection may not be as vast as the Met but they have nicer pieces. Well worth a... More

We have seen many avant garde exhibits at the Brooklyn Museum. It is a large, high ceilinged, rich space and depending on whether the current exhibit is of interest to YOU, it is worth a trip. Brooklyn has many charms and wonderful spots to visit and should not be left off the tourism pat. More

Went to see the Keith Haring show, it was amazing! The rest of the museum looked wonderful too although we didn't have time to look at everything. Definitely worth a visit More

The Museum is ruining the display of its fine permanent collection of American art and furnished rooms. Modern artists are allowed to display their work amidst 200 year old furnishings, thus blighting classic, beautiful things that have stood the test of time. The American galleries are no longer arranged chronologically, but by genre, so that the flow ow history through... More

The Brooklyn Museum is one of my favorites museums in New York. The architecture is amazing, the art collection is diverse and on the first Saturday of the month the museum is free and full of cultural events, including live music and dance. I love the Elizabeth Sackler, Feminist center; almost, one of a kind reminder of women contributions to... More

Check to see about the Judy Chicago exhibit upstairs. Although you are in a borough of NYC, it's far from downtown Manhattan. So, go only if you have the time and transporation. More
