Great park with nice lawns, relaxed atmosphere and barbecues for free use. Walked through the park to attend the Googa Mooga festival. Wished we could spend more time there to relax during our stay in Brooklyn.

The park is immense so even with a lot of people, you don't feel crowded. The entrance is beautiful with the arch and the statues. The trails are well maintained. Main restrooms are well-maintained. Water fountains are and water stops are available at frequent intervals. A beautiful, peaceful place in Brooklyn.
To call it hidden is perhaps a bit much, it is a huge park, but it certainly doesn't come to mind when most tourists think of New York!
The park is very big and some thought should be given to navigating the park, there are plenty of maps located around but they are worth paying attention too as you can...

Nice park, saw my first chipmunk there, just couldn't get the camera out in time! Guidebook said there was a cafe at the boathouse, no longer there. They told us there was one at the picnic house, none their either. Limited toilet facilities....do not us the portable ones, absolutely disgusting.
very good circle for all bikers levels has a nice hill and a cruising slope. if you run its a bit of a challenge but roads are generally clear of cars
This park is great for a variety of activities. There seems to always be something going on. There's a martial arts class on Saturday mornings. There are a solid flow of children's sports, cheer leading and other extracurricular activities going all day on weekends. The park is dog friendly, but please be responsible and clean-up after your pet. The park...

This park was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, who had recently finished Central Park, to provide pastoral vistas to the people of Brooklyn. As befits the borough's more laid-back attitude, Prospect Park is not nearly so fancy as its older sister, but the city has been improving it steadily. It has woodland walks with waterfalls, a lovely boathouse and lake...

I actually got off on the wrong subway stop, and thankfully ended up right next to prospect park. I'd say its a mini Central Park. It's gorgeous, peaceful, and perfect for a run or bike ride.
Lovely park to spend an afternoon in. Beautifully designed. Trees, lawns, children's play areas and a cycle and running track. At weekends people everywhere having picnics and barbeques. Great family environment. Love going there with my family.
