The house is not impressive from the outside, and there are no furnishings at the present time, but the plaster work on the ceilings is well worth the trip. It is located right in the historic district so it is easy to get to. More

George Washington slept here at the home of his sister Mary. Once a large tobacco plantation, it is now a several acre historical site containing a small museum, colonial manor house, kitchen building and small flower garden. Kenmore was recommended by a friend and the tour was amazing!!! Our tour guide was fabulous and shared so much history with us including how the amazing ceilings were designed and made by "the stucco-man". Amazing bit of history of how "the gentry" lived. Highly recommend this stop and I plan on going back!! More
