Church was covered in scaffolding. However, it was open to tour. Very beautiful inside. Stained glass windows were incredible.

The church is beautiful and gives you a moment in time to reflect on history, religion and today. You can light candles for loved ones. There was a guide to answer questions and tell the history of the church.
The Cathedral of St John the Baptist should be a must visit for anyone touring Savannah. The architecture is stunning, as are the stainglass, and the various stations of the cross. I love the soaring ceiling and the beautiful pipes on the back wall. The alter is beautiful as well. Its a wonderful stop, well worth time. On my most...

Unfortunately the outside was in the process of being restored when I visited but the inside was stunning ! Definitely worth a visit.
This Cathedral is a landmark in Savannah and I can't get enough! You can just walk in and take some really cool shots. It's pretty much centered in the heart of Savannah. Great coffee house close by.

Catholic or not, you'll be stunned by the beauty and majesty. To use an overused term, the cathedral is "Awesome."
No admission to enter, just make sure to go when there is no service being conducted. Quite impressive inside with all the stained glass.
They don't make them like this anymore. We didn't get to go thru too much of it because of a wedding and rehearsal taking place, but the guide stationed at the door was knowledgeable and friendly. He told us all we wanted to know.
