The best is the how authentic the materials Mr. Gibson uses; as though we were in 1863! A great time with great results!

On a whim, took three kids - two boys & one girl [ages 11 & 10 years old]. The owners were so nice and very interested in giving the kids a fun and educational experience. Rob's wife dressed each child with care and made one particularly nervous girl so at ease I didn't think we'd get the costume off her!... More

Rob Gibson is a master photographer. The methods he uses for wet plate and tintype photos are completely authentic, and his spouse/dresser is attentive and extremely helpful in choosing the correct attire and accessories to complement the sitter. A much-deserved 2012 Pick of the County winner. Prices are very reasonable for the artistry and final product that is com

We visited R.J. Gibson's studio. Wow! He has photographed many famous people (their pics are on his walls) and his demonstrations have been featured at the Smithsonian and The White House Press Corp. However, he is extremely humble and unassuming. He is eager to show you his vintage (dating back to the Civil War) cameras and the techniques he uses... More

If you want an authentic Civil War photograph along with an amazing experience, go to Gibson's Photography. This is not digital photography like all the other places-this is the real deal! The clothes he uses are museum quality. For men, you can choose from Union or Confederate clothing. For ladies, he has ball gowns and other dresses to choose from.... More

Loved our experience at Gibson's. The photograph turned out beautiful and we got a first-hand look at the wet plate photography technique that dates back to the 1800's.

We didn't have reservations and just stopped by. They could fit us in and dressed us in authentic Civil War period outfits. It was expensive but to actually get your picture taken with a 150 year old camera and watch the whole process was an amazing experience. We purchased the pictures and they became the souvenirs that we brought home... More

Before we went, I read every review I could find. So I went into Rob's studio with very high expectations. All of our expectations were exceeded! As Dee got the girls ready. Rob outfitted the boy and I in authentic cavalry and officer uniforms. Rob then took us through the photo process from times of old. Pictures in the 1800's... More

This is one place not to miss. You are greeted with open arms and are given the opportunity to experience photo taking as it was done in the Civil War era. We dressed as a Union Colonel and his wife dressed in her finest ballgown. You get to even watch the amazing process to develop your photograph. This was one... More
