Quaint little town, along with snow covered mountains made this a very pleasant trip, along with the side tours to see the different sites around the caldera area, it was a pleasant trip.

The snow was spring snow. The temperatures were perfect for "T" shirt skiing. You'd have to be here for a week to ski every run. There's something for every level of skier.

Although much of the giant Mountain is closed for the season and there's no more giant powder to fluff through, we've had a great time in late April. There's enough people here to make everything feel active and fun, but the slopes and terrain parks are wide open. I've been learning to snowboard on the small jumps, since no one... More

We hit the mountain right at the beginning of the off-season. Got a great deal on hotel/lift tickets. Since its off-season, you can park at the top of the Main Lodge without paying the regular $20. Weather was beautiful with sunny, blue skies, but it was a bit too warm so the snow got pretty slushy. Wide open runs with... More

Maybe the best ski resort in the United States. No matter what, it is in the conversation. All things considered, it is truly a crown jewel of American Skiing. The layout of the resort is better than anything I have ever skied. Rather than ridgeline skiing like a Park City where your choices are to get a bit of steeps... More

Mammoth is a wonderful ski hill. There are plenty of lifts to keep lines at a minimum. There are many aspects to the mountain so you can usually find nice snow somewhere. Ski patrol is quick to respond to accidents (sad to say we had an opportunity to use them), ski hosts are helpful. There are tours of the mountain... More

A really nice place to stop ... not as active in the summer but there is a climbing wall, shops, and the tram to top of the mountain. This is also the bus staging and pick-up area for Red Meadows - Devils Postpile and Rainbow Falls. Plenty of parking - busses do fill up fast in the summer and you... More

We took the gondola ride to the top. The views were stunning! Stopped in at McCoys for a snack and a beer. Good food, though a little pricey.
