The history is amazing. Marta no longer performs, all though she would like to sometimes our age (hers 87) catches up to us. The murals in the opera house were all hand painted by Marta and are amazing to see. More

You must make reservations whether you are planning to attend the events in the Opera House or just spend the night. There is a restraunt that serves good food at reasonable prices considering where they are. Long Street Hotel and Casino is just a few miles up the road. Other nearby attractions are Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge, Shoshone as... More

I had seen the documentary "Amargosa" a little over a year ago and was so delighted to finally go see the Opera House and stay at the motel. This is a rare and unusual experience. Marta's paintings in the Opera House are too wonderful and unique for words. The motel is comfortable (very modest and quiet) and I so enjoyed... More

The room was barely heated. The heater is very noisy. There was no hot water in the shower. The bed is hard and uncomfortable. There were no extra blankets. We were charged 20% over stated rate. Stay away!!! More

This odd place is was built and painted by Marta Becket. She is unable to perform anymore but you may still get to meet her. She did all the 3-d illusion paintings in the opera house and in the connected hotel. More

On our drive to Death Valley from Las Vegas, we were starting to get hungry and decided to stop for lunch. We happened to time this event just right as we were at Death Valley Junction where the historic Amargosa Hotel & Opera House is situated. The sign announcing a tour of the place for $5 called to us and... More

We were made to feel quite welcomed although we arrived quite late without a booking by Reg. If you want something to eat, get there before 8pm. We had some food with us so this was not a problem. There was plenty of coffee. We were shown the various themed rooms, so we could make our choice. All in all... More
