This small museum takes you through the story of the Little Rock Nine at Central High. It does it very nicely and tells the story not only of that time but what has happened since then in terms of civil rights and desegregation in schools. The story is very touching and really brings home the struggles of that period. Very... More

After viewing the museum we were taken on a tour of Central High where the young lady told us about much that went on inside the school, away from the protection of the soldiers.

This is an active high school, so we just drove by and saw the exterior and did not stop in the small visitor center.

I've lived in Arkansas ALL of my life and this was the first time that I've gotten to visit this beautiful site. The history museum is FREE so it's a must. You can see first hand how the LR9 were treated back in the day. You hear stories from them on going to school ( getting urine, feces, spit )... More

An excellent small museum; a story well told and very worth visiting. It gave context to my memories of black and white newsreel in the late fifties.

The visitor center is very nice, the exhibit gives you a great lesson of what happened to the Little Rock 9. The school itself is amazing, wish I could have gone inside..This is a must for history buffs!!!

My wife and I visited the National Parks visitor center and spent about an hour and half listening to recordings made by the Central High 9, which was really interesting. Learned a lot about the times and how difficult it was for the students to stay in school in spite of all the harassment. Also were there when Central High... More

The guided National Park Services tour is amazing. Ask for Brian! He is so knowledgable, knows the faculty and students of Central High and the Little Rock 9! He truly cares and really inspires the students to make a difference.

What an interesting visit we had, we visited as part of our road trip and are so glad we did. We had read a bit about the museum before we came, but there is nothing like being there and reading/listening to the audio that is available. This was quite an eye opener for us and makes you appreciate how easy... More

Very eerie to see the building in person after seeing in black and white on TV. Surrounding neighborhood has certainly declined.
