Views were amazing and also much better views that from Empire state building, although that is spectacular in another way. Went in the dark also and views were breathtaking.x
luckily we arrived when there were spaces on the timed entries so did not have to wait or call back. The journey to the top was fast and efficient and the views unbelievable! I had already visited the Empire State Building but I think this view was better as there were no grills to hinder photography!
excellent views, entry is by timed ticket, we had less than an hours wait, so we wondered over to the ice rink. tickets are purchased or vouchers redeemed on a lower level. do this and empire state, one in daylight the other at night.
Was a bit worried going up so high but I loved it! When the lift starts the roof lights up, music plays and suddenly you've arrived. The panoramic view is breathtakingly, the staff are friendly and efficient. Snacks and drinks are available on the lower ground floor. A definite 'must visit' place.
By far the best view of NYC you can ask for. If you're deciding between this and the Empire State building, choose this. You go all the way up to the open air terrace on the 63rd floor, with 360 degree views of the city. It is absolutely spectacular and you can stay up there as long as you want.... More
We booked for the next day to avoid long queues and had the most amazing morning on top of the Rock. Blue skies and sunshine meant we could see for miles. I would recommend this as a must-do while in NYC.
From this observation deck, you will get to see a magnificent view of entire New York city. The lift experience itself is a big part of the overall entertainment. You can see all sides of New York from the top. Don't miss it.
Visited this highlight Nov. 11 th. 2013 no lines , bought our tickets & went straight up . The elevator ride up with the lights was an experience by itself. The three observation decks offer the very best views of the highlights and wonder of New York City ! I would have stayed there several hours but it was so... More
If you can only choose one and you are going strictly for the views, then the Top of the Rock is superior to the Empire State Building. Even the building is beautiful and the ride up has a bit of theatrics to it. I really like that the plates of glass of openings so you can take a picture without... More
Although the queue can be quite long, the spectacular views of Manhattan are definitely worth the wait. Also the best view of the Empire State Building. Beware the hawkers just outside...most of their "skip the line" passes they try to sell you are worthless.
