The Times Square Booth sells day-of-performance tickets only.2. The South Street Seaport Booth sells tickets to evening performances on the day of the performance and matinee tickets the day before.3. The Downtown Brooklyn Booth sells tickets to evening performances on the day of the performance and matinee tickets the day before as well as tickets to Brooklyn performing arts events.TKTS Times Square, TKTS South Street Seaport and TKTS Downtown Brooklyn accept credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover), cash, traveler's checks or TKTS Gift Certificates. This is really the way to get to see Broadway shows when in NYC. Their booth sits at the top of Times Square behind the red stairs. Same day tickets are sold for both matinees (where applicable) and evening shows. Matinee shows are sold at 10:00am and evening shows at 3:00pm. Plan to arrive an hour before to avoid the...

Don't let the long lines scare you off. The line moves quickly. Lots of shows to choose from but most popular shows may not be available. Download free TKTS app for mobile phone (with free WiFi in Times Square) to see up to the minute listing of available shows. Remain flexible and you'll find tickets for a reasonable price.

Wish they opened earlier.
LONG line
May not get the seats you want (i.e. orchestra vs mezzanine, etc.) - research the venues so you can get a good seat without feeling 'had' - caution some ORC seats can have obscured views and that might be why they are up for grabs day of show.

We went to TKTS at Times Square around 5 pm, waited for no more than 15 min. and got tickets for the play of our choice for 40% off. Great deal with no hassle!
