We took our kids I have seen it before..it is not a play for anyone under 14!! I think it has gotten a little more perverted since it is on off broadway..there were a few things that made us a bit uncomfortable, It is still my favorite play!!

I have seen "Rent" 4 times and this show was amazing. We went for a girls weekend and loved seeing it in NYC! The cast was amazing, especially Angel and Roger. Energetic and it was thrilling, even brought us to tears. This is always an amazing show and I recommend seeing it at least once, especially in NY! Will go...

I have never seen the Broadway version of Rent (live or DVD) or the movie and only knew the Broadway Cast recording. I've always wanted to see the show but never made it to New York when it was still on Broadway, so I was very happy when I found out it's now playing off-Broadway.
We tried the ticket lottery...

I saw it at New World Stages; great place to get a drink before and after the show.

I have one annoyance with the theater itself. Why must a live theater sell refreshments? People working a package of candy while the performers are singing. I find it rude and crass.

Perhaps I was spoiled by the DVD of the original cast play and by the movie (impecable casting). This new presentation was, for me below expectation. In some parts of the stage (especially both upper corners), accoustic was bad and created half- echoes and metalic sounds). Some exceptional actors/singers (Nicholas and Margot) others could use more experience (Adam and Arianda)....
