This and Tribeca are my favorite areas of New York. The outside ironwork fire escapes, cobbled streets and vibe of the place is sensational. Hop the subway to Canal Street and take a couple of hours to wander, stop for a coffee (if only they knew how to make coffee - the Laughing Man in Tribeca does a fair job)... More

I remember SoHo when it was still kind of edgy. And when it became more upscale around 15 years ago, it was rather nice. Now there are just too damn many people and the shops aren't so unique anymore--and those that are work very hard to be 'hipper-than-thou.' More
