Getting too crowded...and ever since Chanel opened a store there it just was one more thing that ruined that neighborhood. More

A perfect location to do a lot of shopping in the city - the area has a wide variety of stores, so works well for all budgets! Plus keep your eyes out for celebrities - a lot of them live in this area and in Greenwhich village :) More

If you are looking to shop, you found the right place. On broadway you will find mostly chain stores but walk around on some of the side streets and you will find cute (but mostly upscale) boutiques. Restaurants are good, but most of them also upscale. If you are looking to save money go to one of the food trucks,... More

So some previous reviewers have lamented Soho has forgotten its original "edgy" roots, but let's be honest, which previously edgy inner city place in the world hasnt?? Obviously rent prices have moved the originals out and in with the mainstream stores who pay rent. But who cares?? Soho is a really cool part of town. Original cobblestone streets filled with... This and Tribeca are my favorite areas of New York. The outside ironwork fire escapes, cobbled streets and vibe of the place is sensational. Hop the subway to Canal Street and take a couple of hours to wander, stop for a coffee (if only they knew how to make coffee - the Laughing Man in Tribeca does a fair job)... More

Yes, it's a bit of a ways from midtown. However, if u visit NYC and neglect to spend a day in Soho..u will regret it. More

I remember SoHo when it was still kind of edgy. And when it became more upscale around 15 years ago, it was rather nice. Now there are just too damn many people and the shops aren't so unique anymore--and those that are work very hard to be 'hipper-than-thou.' More

Great shopping district, be careful with your handbag, but did feel safe on my own. Loads of handbags to buy and haggling to be done, loads of souviners, cheaper than times square, a must for shopaholics. More
