Getting too crowded...and ever since Chanel opened a store there it just was one more thing that ruined that neighborhood.

A perfect location to do a lot of shopping in the city - the area has a wide variety of stores, so works well for all budgets!
Plus keep your eyes out for celebrities - a lot of them live in this area and in Greenwhich village :)

Young vibrant area. Very expensive shops. Good restaurants and cafes. Galleries.

I remember SoHo when it was still kind of edgy. And when it became more upscale around 15 years ago, it was rather nice. Now there are just too damn many people and the shops aren't so unique anymore--and those that are work very hard to be 'hipper-than-thou.'

Great shopping district, be careful with your handbag, but did feel safe on my own. Loads of handbags to buy and haggling to be done, loads of souviners, cheaper than times square, a must for shopaholics.
