In early May, my husband and I were lucky to be able to tour the Canyon de Chelly with Leander Staley. He is extremely knowledgeable, personable and most interesting. He has been giving tours for over 15 years and also tagged along as a child when he father and uncle gave tours of the canyon. His grandparents also lived in... More

My wife and I booked a 3 hour afternoon tour with Leander Stanley at De Chelly Tours. He was an excellent, personable guide who offered us a wealth of information not only about the canyon itself, but about his background and the Navajo life. It was an excellent cultural experience in addition to the visual experience of being in the... More

I thoroughly enjoyed my tour of Canyon de Chelly with Leander Staley. He has 15 years of guide experience and comes from a family of guides that preceded him. He was very knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable enough to ask many questions about the Navajo culture and customs. I highly recommend him. More

My husband and I met up with good friends at The Thunderbird Lodge with the intent of hiring a guide to take us to Canyon de Chelly the following morning. Because the weather forecast seemed questionable, we chose not to book in advance. I'm not sure booking the morning of your tour is the best way to go, but it... More

My wife and I took a four hour private tour of Canyon de Chelly with Leander Staley, owner of DE CHELLY tours. His running commentary of the archeological and cultural history of the canyons was captivating and entertaining. My only regret is that we didn't book a full day tour to take in more of the canyon's landscape and the... More

What a wonderful experience. Lee, our guide, was very personable and knowledgeable about this beautiful site. We learned a tremendous amount about the ancient ruins, pictographs, rock formations and Navajo people. His family owns land in the canyon so it was great to get real first-hand information about what it was like to grow up in this beautiful part of... More

We took a three hour tour of the canyon with Leander Staley of the De Chelly Tours. It was awesome! Lee was very knowledgeable and shared all of the stories of the canyon. The tour was up close and personal with the canyon--so much better than just a drive around the rim. If I had know that it was going... More

We booked the 3 hour tour from Navajo Spirit Tours. Leander had a vast knowledge of the culture and nature of the area. He answered all of our questions and was flexible to our needs. He took us wherever we wished and stopped for us to take pictures. We enjoyed the tour very much because he knew all of the... More

We spent two days in Canyon de Chelly; one day touring the South Rim and hiking the White House trail, and the other day down in Canyon del Muerto. About a month in advance, we booked an all-day 8 a.m.-3 p.m. De Chelly tour with Leander Staley, in his enclosed, SUV-type vehicle. We carried our own water and drinks and... More
